3 friends looking across Brum V McGarvey cc-by 2025
We met at New Street Station by Ozzy the Bull.
Had a coffee in a cute cafe and then into the sun.
We strolled through the crowds heading to the central colonnade.
Pictures by the fountain add to friendship memories that never fade.
Then into the museum with its beauteous mosaic floors,
memorising the only map for a self-directed tour.
We marvel at the accomplished ironwork, debate the exhibits on display.
Are captivated by Curtis Holder's virtuosity in his portraits in the hallway.
Back into the sun garrulously on to Centenary Square,
and the cake design library that grotesquely sits there.
Through the doors, up the moving stairs to the garden vantage point,
together we critically survey the skyline which the buildings disjoint.
Once more we crusade looking for a beverage stop,
a drink house aptly named the Shakespeare in which we pop.
Then finally off for some grub, a cosy place on a Jewellery Quarter street.
After laughter and chats, we sadly hug, say goodbye, heart full and tired feet.
