I took these pictures recently on a trip to my brother and his family. A cold grey December weekend. The pictures are not enhanced. I just like the bleakness. I could have taken pictures of the evocative thatched cottages in the village and I did take a picture of the attractive Christmas lights in the square. However, these images stay in my mind's eye, the captured pictures are still there. If these pictures were painted, I think they may have been distorted to look prettier or even grittier. Of course, photographs are not what we actually see they are chemical compositions, but they give a lasting impression. The picture is the image of what we saw, on that day, at that time. And it was very windy.
